Of the ten rooms to choose from, each has it’s own appointed funky theme allowing our guests to take a step back-in-time with mid-century modern vintage furniture and decor. The rooms feature a tiled walk-in shower, a microwave, a mini fridge, flat screen TV, coffee maker with the fixings and we include a park pass with your stay. The outside of The Groovy Nomad features colorful murals painted by local artist Keeley Farmer.
We started renovating this 1959 Motel formerly the Southland Motel, over a year ago. We are natives of Dade County and love our community. Driving past the motel each day, we knew one day we would hope to bring her back to life. It was a passion project for us to take the old rundown motel in our area and reinvent it into a place that will create memories for locals, travelers and those passing through.
“For the past year we have been working hard to bring life back to this little place,” Melissa said. “In June 2022 we opened up our first five rooms. Now all ten rooms are complete along with a beautiful courtyard to entertain and enjoy. We have big future plans for The Groovy Nomad” - Melissa Faircloth
